This 4-hands version of “Canon in D” is based on the arrangement framework by BELLA&LUCAS, a channel dedicated to four-hands duet performances and sheet music. I first came across their version because one of my students wanted to learn this piece. Their arrangement is beautifully written, well-structured, and thoughtfully balanced between both parts. During the teaching process, considering that some duet partners may have different skill levels, I decided to redesign and extend the voice distribution. This version is neither a simplified nor upgraded version, but rather a redistribution of technical focus: ・Shifting more technical passages to the left-hand bass part ・Allowing the upper part to focus more clearly on melodic phrasing ・Reshaping the bass texture to reflect my personal arranging style ・Adding fingering indications to the score ・Incorporating my own interpretation of rubato and dynamic shaping With this design, if one pianist in the duet has a higher level while the other is more intermediate, this version may offer a more practical and comfortable collaboration choice. Overall, the arrangement is still developed based on the BELLA&LUCAS framework.
