In the deep desert, caravans converged at a Karavan Sarai (literally Caravan Palace)(also spelled Caravanserai and Caravan Sarai). Mystics, merchants, scholars, musicians, nomads and their camels stopped for the night to rest and celebrate the days journey. The Sarais(Palaces)became music centers for a sharing of cross-cultural ideas and experiences; just as Narayan found in his many years living in these land. The musical group Karavan Sarai is reawakening this amazing alchemy of musical storytelling. The album 'Woven Landscapes' is creating a musical blending style of East meets West and Ancient meets Modern. Rearranged traditional music of the Silk Road is woven together with the original compositions of Narayan Sijan and the production of Carmen Rizzo Two Time Grammy Nominee who produced and performed on the album, his credits range from A.R.
