The Jak 3 Retrospective

With Jak II proving to be about as successful as the first Jak and Daxter, the team at Naughty Dog was ready to buckle down and end the trilogy. Founders Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin were prepared to take their leave, and would step back during development of Jak 3 so that the staff would be ready for when Evan Wells and Stephen White took over. Now with Legacy of Kain director Amy Hennig at the helm of Jak 3, it was looking like Naughty Dog's future was secured. But with the rise of rivals Ratchet & Clank and Sly Cooper, and a ludicrously stacked holiday season, Jak 3 would be facing an uphill battle like no other.
