Doctoral Lecture Recital - “The Art of the Theatre Organ: A Forgotten Musical Tradition?”
Lecture given in partial fulfillment of the Doctor of Musical Arts degree. This lecture focuses on the history and performance practices of the American Theatre Organ and includes comparative recordings and analysis from various sources. There is also historical research on movie palaces and information on the culture of theatre attendance in the 1920’s. This lecture is supplemented by a pre recorded performance which can be found in a separate video.
