Sociologist Márcia Lima has dedicated her academic career to observing and analyzing the impacts of social and racial inequality in Brazil, a country founded on these pillars. Recently, alongside fellow sociologist Luiz Augusto Campos, Lima organized the collection "The Impact of Quotas: Two Decades of Affirmative Action in Brazilian Higher Education" – published by Grupo Autêntica. The book brings together texts that illuminate different aspects of the quota policy – ​​from the conditions under which it was implemented to more recent improvements. In conversation with Branca Vianna, Márcia Lima discusses how Brazil has changed in the 20 years the quota policy has been in effect and also discusses her time in the Lula administration as Secretary of Affirmative Action at the Ministry of Racial Equality.
