Chicago Blues w/John Primer and Bob Corritore!
I'll never forget the first time I heard LIVE real Chicago blues, with all of its laid back space, gut moving intensity, and infectious groove. Anyone who thinks all blues is the same is quite mistaken. There's a distinct raw feel and depth to this region's longtime legacy of offerings. Unfortunately, living in California years ago had stunted my opportunities to enjoy this signature moving sound greatly. Really grateful to say I had the chance and honor of seeing some of the greats, including Jimmy Rogers, Junior Wells, Carey Bell, Dave Myers, Robert Junior Lockwood, and some others who thankfully came out our way. Then came a visit from Magic Slim & The Teardrops. That was the first time I saw the still present day blues jewel known as John Primer. His kind nature was immediately noticeable. As a woman in the crowd with a brain, one can spot the difference pretty quickly between an egoist out for game and schtick, or a true decent man honoring his love for his craft. That night, I became a forever fan of "that nice, talented, smiling guy, whoever he was". I later found out that prior to his 13 years with Magic Slim, he had been the band leader with THEE Muddy Waters prior to his death!! Primer's dedication to serving the song in a world of guitar wankers was moving to say the least. I'd encourage every blues fan (or just good music fan!) out there to go and capture any and all moments possible with Mr. Primer if ever he comes to your town without hesitation. We are all SO fortunate to still have THE REAL DEAL touring and making new music for us all to enjoy!! Long live John Primer!! Thank you Bob Corritore as well for offering much of the same attributes, serving the song perfectly with your undeniable harmonica skills, and creating more and more notably great music with so many great collaborations over the many years! HUGE thanks to Mindy Giles and her much respected Swell Productions for all of her efforts to bring great blues to Northern California!!! HD* available, so please use that and ENJOY! :-) Bass: Greg Roberts! Drums: Ronnie Smith! https://johnprimerblues.com/ https://bobcorritore.com/
