New Zealand Bikepacking, Heaphy Track to Pohara. October 2022

Bikepacking in New Zealand South Island. We rode the Heaphy Track from Gouland Downs hut towards Browns Hut and all the way to the sleepy town of Pohara in Golden Bay on full suspension mountain bikes. A trek Fuel EX 9.9 and a Santa Cruz Tallboy. The bridge over the Heaphy river was still destroyed after the February 2022 floods. Which is why we had to ride an "out and back" route instead of the complete Heaphy Track. A few days before we rode the western side of the Heaphy Track from Karamea to the Heaphy River. A day before we rode to James Mackay Hut which was as far as we were allowed to ride on the Eastern side. This meant we effectively rode the Heaphy Track twice, once in each direction over 3 days.
