I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.' 16:4 I know what to do; if I am forced to leave my employment, they will welcome me into their homes.' 16:5 Then he summoned his master's debtors one by one, and asked the first, 'How much do you owe my master?' 16:6 'A hundred barrels of oil,' he answered. 'Here is your debt; sit down right there and write it down to 50 barrels.' 16:7 Then he asked the other, 'How much do you owe?' 'A hundred barrels of wheat,' he answered. 'Here is your debt; write it down to 80 barrels.' 16:8 But the master praised the dishonest steward for his shrewdness. The sons of this world are wiser in their generation than the sons of light. 16:9 I also tell you, make friends for yourselves with the help of unrighteous wealth, so that when it is gone, they will receive you into your eternal dwellings. 16:10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is dishonest in what is least is dishonest also in much. 16:11 Therefore, if you have not been faithful with unrighteous wealth, who will entrust you with true riches? 16:12 And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to others, who will give you what is yours? 16:13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."
