CMPD’s last interaction with DeCarlos Brown Jr. before fatal stabbing of Iryna Zarutska
DeCarlos Brown Jr. called 911 while at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte and said he needed help removing a “man-made” material that was controlling him. When Charlotte police officers arrived, they told Brown — a homeless man diagnosed with schizophrenia — that they could not help him. Video shows two officers interacting with Brown outside the hospital.
