I'm Disappointed with Lights Lacquer

Lights Lacquer brand polish has existed since 2019 and was created by youtuber Kathleen Lights. After receiving feedback from commenters about the controversial past of the brand and its owner, I decided to take a deeper look and share my findings. I am disappointed in the way both the brand and Kathleen have handled her past controversies of saying the n-word and attempting to profit from rainbow washing. Even attempting to summarize both of those events in a few words fails to cover the extent of the issues, so I hope you are able to watch this video and read the threads included. I am not affiliated with any brands mentioned within this video (Lights Lacquer, Holo Taco, Mooncat, Nudestix, PolishPickUp (PPU)) This research really opened my eyes to many more brands who have flown under the radar after the implosion of Acetone Alley. My goal with finding out more from past members of AA is to help maintain a record of bad behavior from specific brands and brand owners as a way to help consumers make informed decisions. The SLAPP lawsuits briefly touched on in this video are abuses of the legal system, but are a likely consequence of posting publicly about any of these brands. I will continue to do so because these posts, these complaints, and these opinions are legal and vital to the free market.
