#DJI O4 Gyro Data Glitches // Recover gyro data for use in #GyroFlow

So... is GyroGate still a thing? Nah. Yesterday's news. I've coded around it. Your glitched O4 and O4 Pro footage is recoverable. Don't overpay for a different version of the DJI O4 or O4 Lite just to get the upgraded gyro. Everyone on YouTube said the solution was a "5Hz LPF". Well that just neuters the gyro data making the stabilized file almost no better than the original. Sure - it fixed the glitch - because the glitch wasn't IN the original, it was in the Gyro data. And if the stabilization does nothing and looks just like the original - then the glitch is gone. Easy right? No. Truthfully, I don't know what causes the gyro data to record an event that doesn't happen in real life. I suspect noise is aliasing and hitting just the right frequency every now and then to make the gyro freak out. But the outcome is horrible. You can't fly with Rocksteady on. If you're using the footage for YouTube or client work and want to stabilize it in post with GyroFlow, random ticks appear making it almost unusable. My fix: A program that analyzes the motion of the drone, pits that motion against the gyro data stored in the video file, finds where they differ and "doctors" the gyro data. It writes a new gyro data file so you can load it all into GyroFlow. Then GryroFlow just "works". As of 7/14/2026 - Coming soon - this is full proof of concept code that works. Disclaimer: CiottiFPV is one of the best pilots I know and he's flying a 2s sub-100g 2" rig in this flight. His flight was totally safe, and he's one of the best pilots around. Amazing human as well.
