That's what this video is here to help with. This video goes over how borders work, why empires and states have the borders that they do, and a bit about many different powers over the centuries. For all kingdoms, city states, tribes, nations, empires, provinces, regions, etc., this will help. This is mostly historical information, so it's most helpful when writing fantasy.
