The duel between Chemnitzer FC and FC Carl Zeiss Jena is pure nostalgia! Two incredibly strong fan bases, an amazing atmosphere, and all of it in a stadium that, while now quite modern, still has a lot to offer. I was at CFC – or as it was once known: FC Karl-Marx-Stadt. Locally, the stadium is simply called "Fischerwiese" (Fisherman's Meadow), and I'm taking you inside. The team locker room is a highlight; we talk with coach Benjamin Duda in the coach's office about CFC and its fans. Then we head to the VIP lounge, which can hold 1,000 people! An incredible place, where even Michael Ballack might have been a guest. The "Capitano" launched his world-class career at Chemnitzer FC and is a club legend – just like Gerd Schädlich, for example.
