Then, they escaped the Shinra Building. As we resume, Chapter 18: Destiny's Crossroads begins. Scenes take place as the party drive away from the Shinra Building. After the scenes, the party begins rolling down the Midgar Expressway. As in the original game, Cloud must take down the pursuers. Fortunately, the play control is better. At some points, Red XIII will heal Cloud. A M.O.T.H. Unit serves as a miniboss. Guard when it has its wheel blades out. Afterwards, Cloud must take out the Motor Ball. In this rendition, the battle takes place while the party is rolling. To stagger the Motor Ball, Cloud must disable its six wheels. When the Motor Ball prepares its flame cannon, Cloud can brake hard to evade it. It will perform a spinning flame attack when it recovers from stagger, so evade it. More scenes take place after the party defeats the Motor Ball. Big boom! The party dismounts at the End of the Road. A convenient rest area awaits. The vending machine sells discount Mega-Potions, Ethers, and Phoenix Downs. There is even one Elixir available! Awesome. Next time, the party will see what awaits beyond the checkpoint.
