【428 Shibuya Scramble #7】THE END...

[2026-05-22 VOD] ━━━━━━━━━━ ⋆˚🐚⋆˚ ━━━━━━━━━━ ...OF THE MAIN STORY ! And what a story that was ! For such an old game (2008), it holds up perfectly to this day still ! I absolutely adored the mechanics and the multiple MCs routes influencing each other, be it good or bad, the eccentricities of some bad engings. The story itself was rather simple, but the fact you only uncover it bit by bit by following each MC was really interesting, even when, at first, certain characters feel like they would never be involved in the big picture (Tama, before she's revealed to be Maria, and Minorikawa, who's just searching for run of the mill articles to write for a gossip magazine). Some bad choices even mislead you, you end up thinking the story goes a totally different way before you hit the bad end screen. As for the characters, despite some intense comedic portraying, they end up all being very likeable and ironically realistic. Kano is a junior by-the-book detective aiming to be just like his senior, but when the situation asks for it he follows his guts and moral even if that goes against his superior's order and the police's code of conduct; Tama begins as a mascot that you think is going to be the cute character with ridiculous stories for comic relief, surrounded by equally if not more comical characters (Yanagishita I love you) yet is actually the twin sister you kind of orchestrated it all; and finally Minorikawa, a poor excuse of a reporter with a Shonen protag complex but ends up having a strong sense of duty and justice, just in his own way. Even side characters end up leaving a strong impression ! As for Osawa, Tateno and Jack, the'yre there as the seriousness anchor I believe, they don't have contrasting elements to them, but they're no less interesting, my favourite being Osawa and his slow descent into madness and self discovery. I will say however that having an antagonist with no other drive than doing eveil IS old (the game is old so it's understandable). The fact that Alphard hid within our groupe, mascarading as Canaan, and the realisation that the only person who knew the real Canaan never actually saw Alphard to confirm her identity to us was pretty good. There wasn't much room for an actual investigation as the player, but I highly enjoyed this game regardless !
