The Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway (the entire route is designated as CT.24, also known as the Khanh Hoa – Dak Lak Expressway)[1] is a section of the expressway belonging to the Vietnam Expressway system connecting the Central Highlands region with neighboring areas, linking the two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak. The Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway is 117 km long, with 32.7 km passing through Khanh Hoa province and 84 km passing through Dak Lak province. The route starts at the intersection between National Highway 26B and National Highway 1 in Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province and ends at the Ho Chi Minh Highway, the eastern bypass of Buon Ma Thuot, in Krong Pac district, Dak Lak province. The first phase of the expressway was built with 4 lanes without emergency stopping lanes, with several emergency stopping points spaced 4-5 km apart, and a roadbed width of 17 m; Specifically, the section from Km 0 to Km 7.7 (from the intersection at the beginning of the route to the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway intersection) will be fully constructed with 4 lanes and 2 emergency stopping lanes, with a speed of 80 - 90 km/h. Later, it will be expanded to four complete lanes with an emergency lane for the entire route, with a speed of 100 km/h. The expressway is expected to have 56 bridges and 3 tunnels. The expressway has a total investment of 22,000 billion VND,[4] officially started construction on June 18, 2023[5] and is expected to be completed in 2027.
