In Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya fun, learning and gsmes

Last Friday, 26 June 2026, at UIR CBO, 120 children have ways to laugh, play, learn and grow each day in a safe and inclusive environment. Children build confidence, develop social-emotional skills, make friends and gain their own special talent through games, sports, art, music, storytelling and other fun activities. Play is a right of every child and not just a form of play. It encourages children's healthy physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth, and assists them to express themselves and develop resilience. Disability is not an illness. Children with a disability are people just like all other children and share the same rights, abilities and dreams. They can play, and attend sport, education, music, art and all community events – they are supported and included. All children should feel welcomed, valued and respected. At UIR CBO, we will make sure that the space for children is welcoming and inclusive, allowing them to play, learn, and grow together with their peers. We feel that inclusion enriches our communities and provides all children with a chance to achieve their full potential.
