This week I'm digging into the Ariana Grande “she looks sick” discourse and the wider skinny boom, and why SO much of what’s being sold as “concern” is just body shaming and voyeurism in nicer packaging...I'm specifically addressing the cottage industry of content built around her body, how it overlaps with true‑crime‑style spectatorship, stan culture, and TikTok’s obsession with diagnosing strangers, and why turning a woman’s frame into a public study doesn’t actually help anyone that struggles with EDs. I pull in what ED clinicians and orgs actually recommend for talking about this stuff, and try to sketch out a way to discuss the return of ultra‑thinness without turning individual women into cautionary slideshows.
