Indonesia Police Watch strongly condemns the alleged interference by dozens of suspected TNI members at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) building on Thursday (July 9, 2026). The group allegedly arrived armed with weapons and was led by two TNI members with the rank of Brigadier General. The arrival of dozens of individuals was described as a form of interference in the investigation of an alleged corruption case. IPW Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoso revealed that the group attempted to seize witnesses and seized valuable evidence belonging to the alleged corruption suspects. The two locations searched by police investigators are strongly suspected of belonging to a senior official within the Attorney General's Office. The movement of dozens of suspected military personnel who came to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police was not based on an official chain of command. Sugeng warned that the actions of these individuals constitute a serious violation of the law.
