#MinaMania are certainly familiar with salted fish, a common side dish for everyday meals. One producer in Jakarta is the Griya Mina Samudera (GMS) Fish Farming Group. Starting in 1999, Winarso (Head of the GMS Fish Farming Group) ventured into a fish-smoking business on a small plot of land under the Tj. Priok toll road. He certainly experienced ups and downs. However, his unyielding spirit led to rapid growth, and in 2008, Winarso successfully moved his business to a production-ready building. Within a day, the GMS Fish Farming Group can produce one ton of salted fish made from mackerel, skipjack tuna, and baby tuna. The fish is then distributed to traditional markets and supermarkets in Jakarta. In January 2022, the GMS Fish Farming Group successfully expanded its operations to produce fish fillets such as snapper, tuna, mackerel, cobia, and smoked fish. A total of 43 products are sold here. Winasro now has five production and marketing buildings that have received processing eligibility certificates.
