Poor Quality PMGSY Road Construction at Parong Village Administration Conducts Site Inspection
AAYA Raises Concern Over Alleged Poor-Quality PMGSY Road Construction at Parong Village; District Administration Conducts Site Inspection Siang Eung Desk,Parong, 06 June 2026: Following a complaint submitted by the All Adi Youth Association (AAYA), Siang District, regarding the alleged poor-quality construction of the PMGSY road from BRTF Road to Parong Village, the District Administration has conducted a site inspection to assess the actual condition of the project. In its complaint, AAYA alleged that the 9.03-km road project, constructed by the Rural Works Department (RWD) at a cost of approximately ₹5.70 crore, exhibited several deficiencies, including poor-quality road carpeting, cracks, sinking portions, and the absence of a proper drainage system along the entire stretch. The association further claimed that, despite information obtained through RTI indicating that all project bills had been drawn, the physical execution of the work appeared unsatisfactory. AAYA therefore sought a thorough inquiry into the alleged misuse of public funds and requested appropriate action in the interest of the general public. Acting on the complaint, the Deputy Commissioner's Office constituted a team for site verification. As per the order dated 29 May 2026, officials from the DLR&SO Office were attached to the inspection board. Owing to official commitments and medical reasons, the inspection was carried out under the supervision of Miss Shanti Mize AC, representing the Deputy Commissioner, Siang District. The inspection team visited the project site at Parong Village to examine the quality of work executed under the PMGSY scheme. Further action is expected based on the findings and observations submitted by the inspection team.
