Allegro Recorded in Cologne, Germany, June 2008 Concerto by František Hertl is one of the best pieces from the 20th century performed for double bass and orchestra, yet for unknown reasons extremely seldom performed. The reason for it could be simply the fact, that very few double bassists even know about the existence of this piece. And some heard of it, but never listened it. So the goal of this video (first on YouTube with full orchestra) would be to let this concerto win on popularity and become by the time a standard piece in the repertory - it would be in terms of the quality of this composition more than deserved.
