Journalist Samer al-Ahmad to Syria TV: The integration agreement between the government and the SDF has not yielded tangible gains for the people of Hasakah. Researcher and journalist Samer al-Ahmad stated in an interview with Syria TV that the escalating protests in Hasakah Governorate reflect a state of popular discontent stemming from the deteriorating living conditions and services, and a sense of marginalization among local communities, nearly five months after the agreement to integrate the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Al-Ahmad explained that the Syrian government has achieved political and economic gains from the agreement, while local residents have not experienced any real improvement in their living conditions or services. He criticized what he described as the continued practice of quotas in appointments and administrative and security positions. He also pointed to a double standard in dealing with the issue of displaced persons, arguing that the agreement has not provided fair solutions for families displaced by the SDF in recent years. He called for a review of the agreement's implementation mechanisms to ensure balanced representation for all communities in the region and to maintain social stability.
