A Day with the Miniature Train at the Paradise Valley Railroad

This video shows some of the start-of-day procedures in preparation for a day of passengers riding the miniature train at the Paradise Valley Railroad miniature railway facility. I also show some operating scenes, then some end-of-day procedure, and lastly a view of the G-Scale railroad that is being constructed. Seen by me on Sunday May 10, 2026. Big thanks to the friendly & kind people who operate this miniature railway, allowing me to document their operations with photographs and videos. This 7.5 inch gauge track is 1,700 feet long, and construction started in 2011 in phases. Public train rides happen on Sundays between May and September each year, plus some special runs in October and December. The typical consist is a locomotive (gasoline engine, hydraulic driven, with a ride-on tender), 3 passenger ride-astride cars seating 3 adults each, and a caboose. On this day, they also added an attendant car where people could face each other. There is also a wheelchair accessible car. There are also several hand-cars.
