He began learning ikebana at the age of two under his grandmother, Hattori Riharu, the founder of the Koryu Toyokai, and his mother, Miyamoto Riho, the second head of the family. He participated in ikebana exhibitions during his university years. He has participated in the World Ikebana Congress and the Japan Ikebana Art Exhibition. In 2009, he was appointed as the vice-head of the Koryu Toyokai. Afterwards, he was invited to participate in the "Jenadriyah Festival" in Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, and the "Heart of Japan" International Festival hosted by the Moscow Tchaikovsky Memorial Conservatory, where he also performed ikebana in Moscow, Russia. He received the Special Jury Prize at the All Japan Ikebana Competition.
