Community & Climate: Water for All with David Sedlak

David Sedlak, author of Water for All, joins us to discuss the world’s several water crises, as well as investigate the existing and emerging solutions that can be used to solve them. In his book, Sedlak offers an informed and hopeful approach for rethinking our assumptions about the way that water is managed. With this knowledge we can create a future with clean, abundant and affordable water for all. David Sedlak is a Vice Chair for Graduate Studies and Plato Malozemoff Professor of Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley. Sedlak’s research focuses on the fate of chemical contaminants, with the long-term goal of developing cost-effective, safe, and sustainable systems to manage water resources. Community & Climate is an adult lecture series focused on global climate action, aiming to raise community awareness and engage residents in building a healthier and more just world. Through a diverse range of expert voices, we will examine the intersections between innovative technologies, social justice, and climate equity, further focusing on the tangible, human-centered solutions emerging directly from our neighborhood and cities. Originally presented live with the Sunnyvale Public Library on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
