James Gall is an international star with years of experience including a 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2018 World Cup. He has played for Great Britain too, appearing in the 2019 and 2020/21 FIH Hockey Pro League before making his Olympic debut in Tokyo. However, it could have been so different for James, having fractured his skull and spine in a freak accident back in 2015. We caught up with James and discussed his early influences, that fall which changed an shaped his life, his resilience, sacrifices to get to and stay at the top of the game, and maybe most importantly, those around him supporting not only in his recovery but his career.
