This Royal Family has the lineage of Raja Bhoj (1010 AD TO 1060 AD) as its ancestor; Jambughoda State, previously known as Narukot and Tokalpur state, was a small princely state in India during the time of the British Raj. Jambughoda State had an area of 370 km2. Its last ruler acceded to the Union of India on 10 June 1948. The principal part of the palace compound comprises the home of His Highness Maharaja Vikramsinhji and his family. Interestingly, HH Vikramsinhji is a renowned environmentalist who managed to acquire ‘Wildlife Sanctuary’ status for the adjoining Jambughoda forest. The 12-acre family-run heritage home is part of the larger 100-acre property that accommodates an organic farm — which caters to every meal you have here — and a mango orchard withover 5,000 tress producing 16 different types of the fruit.
