The ALPINE breed is known worldwide for its great dairy capacity. It is a breed native to the Swiss Alps, although today it has spread successfully throughout Europe and around the world. The elements that have allowed this progress are fundamentally 3: their resistance to cold, their ability to produce milk in difficult conditions and finally their ability to live in mountainous areas where other breeds have difficulties to take advantage of the pastures. It is an interesting breed to recover abandoned pasture areas, chosen by small shepherds who establish small herds, that are committed to the production of artisan cheeses in areas where other breeds would have difficulties to produce milk in sufficient quantities. #dairy goats
