The Prophet ﷺ immediately corrected them: "By Allah, this leg you are laughing at is heavier in the sight of Allah than the mountain of Uhud." This is the lesson of Surah Al-Hujurat – the chapter of manners. Allah's scale is not like human scales. On Judgment Day, some man who spent his life in the gym, muscular and tough, will be placed on the scale and will not weigh the wing of a mosquito. Meanwhile, the humble, sincere believer will outweigh mountains. Abdullah ibn Mas'ud heard the Prophet ﷺ say "Sit down" while he was still outside the masjid – and he sat down immediately where he was. 2. Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet ﷺ (49:2-3): After the Prophet's ﷺ death, this means do not raise your voices over his narrations and hadith. Listen attentively. The companion Thabit ibn Qays had a loud voice and feared this verse would nullify his deeds. He locked himself in his house. The Prophet ﷺ called him and gave him glad tidings of Paradise. 3. Verify news if a fasik (sinner) brings it (49:6): If a person known for major sins or persistence on minor sins brings you news, verify it before acting. This prevents regret and injustice, especially between spouses and families. 4. Do not mock, belittle, or insult one another (49:11): Do not ridicule another Muslim. You do not know their status in Allah's sight. Iblees's first mistake was belittling Adam (AS) – saying "I am better than him." The same trick continues today. The Sahaba learned this lesson when they laughed at Abdullah ibn Mas'ud's thin legs. 5. Avoid excessive suspicion, spying, and backbiting (49:12): Many problems in marriages and families come from assumptions and speculation that have no basis. "I think," "I assume," "I believe" – these are not evidence. The Brotherhood Verse (49:10): "The believers are but brothers." Even if two groups of Muslims fight each other, they remain brothers. Reconcile between them. People today cut brotherhood for far less. Other powerful lessons from the lecture: Allah never calls the Prophet ﷺ by his name "Ya Muhammad" in the Quran – only "Ya ayyuhan nabiyy" or "Ya ayyuhar rasul" out of respect. Other prophets are called by their names. Umar (RA) told the Prophet ﷺ: "You are more beloved to me than anyone except myself." The Prophet ﷺ corrected him: "No, until you love me more than yourself." Umar then said: "Now you are more beloved to me than myself." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Now your iman is complete."
