They also detail the many ways the album feels like a coming-of-age album. They compare the subject matter of their older songs being tamer to their most recent pieces. "That was a line I was a bit nervous about just because I thought it might be too niche," NoSo says about a specific lyric in "David," "because that was a direct experience I had… It's so bleak, but I think that line really resonated with me because I would look in the mirror and resent my own features."
