Now, in 2024, Martin has reimagined this fixture with the MAC One, packed with enhanced features and capabilities. The MAC One weighs just 4.4 kg and boasts a zoom range of 4 to 27°, making it ideal for washes and tight beams. One standout feature is the incredible backlight effect, allowing users to map video images across lighting fixtures via Martin's proprietary P3 protocol. Bruce delves into the hardware features, including the zoomable Fresnel lens for soft, even lighting, and the various connectivity options on the back, such as true power in and out, DMX 512, EtherCon, and compatibility with P3 protocol, streaming ACN, Art-Net and the small LCD screen with tactile buttons and battery back-up. Setting up the MAC One is made easy with its single Omega bracket for truss mounting and the optional Martin Four-bar accessory for rapid deployment of multiple fixtures on a pre-wired bar. Performance-wise, the MAC One's RGB and lime engine delivers superior light quality compared to traditional RGBW engines. Its endless zoom feature enables rapid zoom pulses, while the 24 RGBW LED segments in the backlight effect offer endless creative possibilities. With a range of pre-built macros and effects onboard, controlling the backlight effect is seamless, whether independently or simultaneously with the main beam. Adjusting the zoom of the Fresnel lens creates varied visual effects from various perspectives and distances. These effects can be powered directly from a P3 processor (Martin’s P3 proprietary protocol) and can be seamlessly integrated with other products such as the Atomic Bold and the Atomic Dots.
