【中山道を歩く⑥】東京→京都：新町〜倉賀野〜安中宿【旧街道の旅】

Continuing from my last post, I walked the Old Nakasendo, one of the five main roads constructed during the Edo period, from Shinmachi-juku in Gunma Prefecture! This was my sixth time. I walked the section from Shinmachi-juku to Kuragano-juku to Takasaki-juku to Itahana-juku to Annaka-juku (approximately 24km). Early November 2022 The Nakasendo is said to be 534m long from Nihonbashi in Tokyo to Sanjo-ohashi Bridge in Kyoto (some sources say 526.3km). At Kusatsu-juku along the way, it merges with the Old Tokaido and follows the same route to Sanjo-ohashi Bridge.
