Bhortal Nritya presentation by Sattriya Nrityasala at APWA Bohag Bihu celebration, Noida Haat on 19th April, 2025. Bhortal Nritya is a vibrant dance from Barpeta, Assam, known for its fast-paced rhythm and the use of cymbals called "bhortals". Developed by Narahari Bura Bhakat, the performers in this dance form move in a circular pattern in standing position and sing some bhakti based songs. The dancers hold the large cymbals in their hands called as bhortals and produce attractive formations in rhythm with the dance.
