The driver of the minibus, traveling from Pendik to Kadıköy, allegedly lost control due to the car's impact. The minibus, traveling from Pendik to Kadıköy, veered onto the sidewalk, striking two people, including a woman, who were on the sidewalk. The two injured, both identified as Kadıköy Municipality employees, were treated at the scene and taken to the hospital by ambulance. One of the injured was reported to have epilepsy. The driver allegedly fled the scene in his vehicle. An eyewitness reportedly said, "A car had crushed him. He veered to the left to avoid hitting the car and veered onto the sidewalk.
