Euro nymphing Calder Grayling

After a lot of wet weather and high river levels, it was nice to get out grayling fishing on the Lancashire Calder at Mitton during a brief dry spell. The sun made an appearance at the start of the day but cloud rolled in on a stiff breeze as the day progressed. Grayling were hard on the riverbed and euro nymphing provided to goodies. I started fishing a size 14 pink shrimp on the point and a size 14 silver beaded black pheasant tail nymph on the dropper. towards the end of the day I switched to fishing an olive jig nymph on the point and a pink squirmy on the dropper which helped net a couple more grayling.
