Fortunately, it was the ground wire installed in the "cookie," or rubber or canvas coupling that holds the steering column. However, in other cases, I would have had to diagnose why it wasn't receiving 12V power when turning the key or opening the switch, which would require checking the fuse, as well as the wire that runs to the horn disc.
