JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Permata Bank Chief Economist, Josua Pardede, believes that the reinvestment of Rp281 trillion in Surplus Budget Balance (SAL) funds into Himbara banks can strengthen banking liquidity and maintain credit distribution. However, he cautioned that liquidity transmission to the real sector does not occur automatically. He stated that credit growth is still dominated by the corporate segment, while MSME loans have not shown significant improvement. Josua also emphasized that SAL funds constitute the state's fiscal reserves, so their use should not be normalized solely to support banking liquidity. He encouraged the government to establish clear success indicators, increase transparency, and ensure that fiscal policies truly impact the productive sector, create jobs, and achieve quality economic growth.
