The Saint-Trophime #Cathedral in Arles is a Romanesque church in the city of Arles located on the Place de la République. It has a nave and vaulted aisles dating from the mid-12th century. A sculpted portal was made around 1180-1190. The Saint-Trophime cloister of the old Arles cathedral dates from the 12th and 14th centuries. The location of this cloister is unusual because it is not attached to either the nave or the transept. It communicates with the choir by means of a staircase of twenty-five steps.
