Viking Longships (REAL) | Learning Made Fun
The Viking Longship's design was arguably the reason the Vikings so quickly expanded across Europe and Russia. Click here to subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/c/MrBradleyLe... The Vikings' advanced technology allowed them to not only scale the rough, northern seas to various other countries but also enabled them to penetrate deep into enemy countries via rivers thanks to their narrow shape and shallow hull. Their ships could be powered both by wind and oars and their symmetrical, double-ended shape allowed them to change direction easily without having to turn the entire boat around. The Viking Longship had to match at its time and the very sight of it struck fear in the hearts of its enemies thanks to its bright red sails and dragon-faced end.
