Whenever I get with a group of new Spanish students, it seems like there are those that can do it easily and then a few who have a bit of trouble. The purpose of this video is to help anyone who needs guidance on the proper way to roll the Spanish R. But it's more than that. Just like mastering Spanish pronunciation requires your mouth to form the proper shapes in order to pronounce the sounds correctly, rolling your R's in Spanish properly is an exercise getting your tongue, mouth, and teeth to behave properly. That's right, in order to roll your R's when speaking Spanish, you must train the muscles in your tongue and mouth to do certain things as you speak. You even have to involve your lungs and teeth to a certain degree. Very quickly you can see that speaking Spanish--or any language--is truly a physical activity. Don't feel overwhelmed.
