Converting Solar Golf Cart with CHEAP Lithium Battery Upgrade

I have been very happy with my solar-powered golf cart, which I built about five years ago. This little cart is equipped with two 100W, 12-volt solar panels, and they’ve been doing a fantastic job keeping up with my daily usage. For years, I cruised around with the original lead-acid batteries. Now that those batteries need replacing, I decided it’s the perfect opportunity to upgrade to lithium batteries. Now, since this is a 48-volt golf cart, it does need a special charge controller to boost the voltage from the panels. I’ve got the panels wired in series to produce 24 volts, which then gets converted to almost 60 volts to charge the battery bank. I will go over that in more detail later in the video. I’ll also provide the links for the solar panels, charge controller, and the new lithium batteries that I used. Also because we switched to using a battery bank built with 12 volt batteries, we can now also add accessories such as a 120v AC power inverter – essentially turning my golf cart into a mobile solar generator.
