Feuling HP+ Cam Plate Oil Pump and Lifters Install EP 3 Harley Twin Cam Step by Step

"In today’s video (Episode 3 of 4), we are upgrading the heart of this Harley-Davidson Twin Cam with a Feuling HP+ Cam Plate and High-Volume Oil Pump. We also dive into installing new Feuling lifters while keeping the stock fixed pushrods. Installing a Feuling HP+ or Race Series oil pump and cam plate is a major upgrade for a Harley-Davidson Twin Cam, especially when paired with new lifters and retained stock pushrods. Using stock pushrods requires removing the rocker boxes, as they are non-adjustable and must be installed from the top down. Part 1: Preparation of Parts Before assembly, ensure all components are meticulously cleaned and pre-lubricated. Cleaning: Flush the oiling system and clean the engine case thoroughly to maintain warranty and ensure longevity. Lifter Prep: Submerge new lifters in clean engine oil to allow them to "bleed down" or prime. Verify the oil hole orientation; Feuling/factory lifters typically point toward the cylinders. Oil Pump Assembly: Disassemble the new oil pump, lube the internal gears/housings with assembly lube, and reassemble. Cam Plate Setup: Press new inner cam bearings .....( Look up VIDEO Episode 2) O-Rings: Apply assembly lube to all new O-rings before seating them in the oil pump and cam chest ports. Part 2: Step-by-Step Installation Instructions Set TDC (Top Dead Center): Rotate the engine (rear wheel in high gear) until the cylinder you are working on is at TDC on the compression stroke. Verify the piston position with a plastic straw or zip tie. Look up VIDEO Episode 1, - Rocker Box Removal: Since you are using stock pushrods, you must remove the gas tank and rocker box covers to lift the rocker arms and pull the pushrods out from the top. Look up VIDEO Episode 2 - Performance Inner Bearings Installation Oil Pump & Cam Plate Assembly: Feuling recommends attaching the oil pump to the back of the cam plate on the bench. Use assembly lube on the pump bolts and leave them finger-tight to allow for centering. Insert Into Cam Chest: Align the flats of the crankshaft with the flats on the oil pump gears. Slide the entire assembly onto the pinion and crank shafts. Centering & Torquing: Cam Plate: Finger-tighten bolts, then rotate the engine to center the pump. Torque in sequence (e.g., 10, 40, 90, 120 inch-pounds). Oil Pump: Follow the same incremental torque sequence while rotating the engine after each step to prevent binding. Sprocket Alignment: Install the cam and pinion sprockets. Use a straight edge to verify alignment between the two; use shims if necessary to achieve a perfect plane. Install Lifters: Drop the primed lifters into the bores. Ensure the roller is perpendicular to the cam lobe and that they drop freely. Install anti-rotation cuffs and torque the lifter covers. Reinstall rocker arms and torque rocker box bolts to spec....
