Website: http://www.madeiraguitareditions.com/ Miguel Llobet - El Mestre André Madeira Biography: He began his musical studies with Américo Fernandes and the study of classical guitar with Ragner Tovar. He attended the Conservatory Calouste Gulbenkian de Aveiro, having as a teacher, Miguel Lelis. Joined later in the Department of communication and Art at the University of Aveiro obtaining his master's degree in music with Professor Paulo Vaz de Carvalho. In the year 2000 he enrolled at the Hochschule für Musik Köln (Germany) in Germany pursuing studies of guitar and chamber music under the guidance of Roberto Aussel getting the "Diplom Intrumentalausbildung" in 2005. He also studied for five years contemporary music with the pianist Paulo Alvares, integrating the “Ensemble für Improvisation und Aleatorische Musik der Hochschule für Musik Köln” performing in several European countries. In 2005 continues postgraduate studies with Odair Assad at the Conservatoire Royal de Mons, École Supérieure des Arts (Belgium), and subsequently held the "Master en Guitare" with the same guitarist ending with Distinction in the year 2010. He earned a Master’s degree in Guitar Pedagogy at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. André Madeira participated in guitar classes with David Russell, Costas Cotsiolis, Roberto Aussel, Leo Brouwer, Eduardo Isaac, Robert Brightmore, Ricardo Gallen, Alvaro Pieri, Joaquin Clerch, Jozef Zsapka, Eduardo Baranzano, Carles Trepat, Pablo Marquez, and Paulo Alvares. During his artistic career was awarded prizes in international guitar competitions and performed concerts in various locations of Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Republic of Montenegro, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil. He appeared also in TV channels inside and outside their country and held three concerts with direct transmission on the Radio Antena2. André Madeira has taught Master Classes and been Jury in several international festivals of classical guitar. Currently resides in Portugal being Professor of guitar at the University Institute Jean Piaget and the Conservatório de Música de Coimbra.
