Where Do I Go To Throw A Picture Away - Jim Reeves
Before signing a recording contract with RCA Victor in 1957; Jim Reeves was a tenor singer. In 1957, Chet Atkins convinced Jim to lower his voice an octave and become a Baritone. Jim obliged Chet and oh what a full, rich Baritone voice Jim possessed!! As equally amazing was the little known fact that on many of Jim's recordings, Jim also sang the bass part. If Chet wanted one of Jim's recordings to have a Bass fill in as part of the backup singers; instead of hiring a Bass singer; Jim would then sing the Bass part using a different track. Of all the pure Baritone singers I have heard personally; NO ONE could match the richness, the depth, the smoothness, and the vocal resonance of Jim Reeves.
