Alleged Theft of Donations from Shri Ram Mandir, Ayodhya: The world-renowned Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus. The temple is home to Shri Ram Lalla, and millions of devotees visit from across India and around the world to seek the blessings of Lord Shri Ram for the well-being, prosperity, and happiness of their families. After offering prayers and receiving blessings, devotees also contribute donations to the temple. These donations are intended to support the temple's maintenance, religious activities, daily worship, and future development. According to recent reports, approximately ₹8 crore is alleged to have been stolen from the temple's donation collection system. Sources indicate that the alleged theft may have involved certain members of the temple staff, despite the presence of extensive CCTV surveillance throughout the temple premises. Such reports have naturally raised questions regarding the effectiveness of the temple's administrative and financial oversight mechanisms. Reports further suggest that several individuals, including Lavkush, Avneesh, Anukalp, Karune, and Rama Shankar, have been identified in connection with the case. It has also been reported that some of the accused have admitted their involvement and that approximately ₹2.98 crore of the allegedly misappropriated funds has been recovered. Taking the matter seriously, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath has reportedly ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry through a three-member committee. The committee is said to include Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, Lucknow Zone IG of Police Kiran S., and Special Finance Secretary Neel Ratan. The committee has reportedly been directed to submit a preliminary report within seven days and a comprehensive report within fifteen days. Shri Ram Mandir is not merely a religious structure; it is a symbol of faith and devotion for millions of Hindus across the world. Therefore, any allegations of financial irregularities, particularly involving devotees' donations, have the potential to affect public confidence and raise concerns among worshippers. It is hoped that the investigation will be conducted in a fair, transparent, and impartial manner. Devotees across the world expect that the truth will be established, accountability will be ensured if wrongdoing is proven, and appropriate measures will be taken to protect the integrity of the temple administration.
