Aperta la “strada della stazione”, che sgrava dal traffico via dell’aeroporto

The new road connecting Viale Crispi with Via dell'Aeroporto is now open to traffic. This long-awaited project is part of the broader redevelopment project for Teramo's train station. The new connection represents an important step in the so-called "urban reconnection" between the station district, Gammarana, and the rest of the city, overcoming a historic road divide. During the initial phase, the road will be one-way from Via dell'Aeroporto to Viale Crispi. This experimental solution will remain in place for approximately three months, during which time the City Council and local police will monitor traffic flow to assess any potential improvements. The mayor expressed his satisfaction, emphasizing that the project represents a crucial step in the transformation of the station area. The goal is to restore urban continuity to the neighborhoods, improving connections and accessibility, thanks also to the future opening of the new square scheduled for the coming weeks. This opens up a new way for motorists to travel through the city, while it remains to be seen whether the new road system will actually improve traffic flow or whether it will further burden traffic along Via dell'Aeroporto.
