CH341A: 5V na BIOS? A Verdade Técnica (Datasheet, Osciloscópio e a "Farsa" do Multímetro)

Is the 3.3V modification on the CH341A programmer really necessary, or is it just "fake news"? In this video, we move beyond opinions and into the realm of electronic engineering to analyze what actually happens on the EEPROM memory pins of the 25 series during programming. What you will learn in this video: 🔬 The Multimeter Fallacy (The Hammer Example): Understand why the multimeter misleads you by showing low voltages (2.2V ~ 3.3V) during programming. We use the hammer analogy: if you hammer very quickly with 5kg of force, a slow scale will only register an average of 2kg, but the nail still feels the full impact of 5kg. The multimeter measures the Duty Cycle (average), but the BIOS senses the 5V peak sent by the CH341A. Book: What the Manufacturers Say (Datasheets): Winbond (W25Q64FV): The manual is categorical. The absolute maximum voltage is 3.6V. Operating above this violates the component's operating guarantees. WCH (CH341A): The integrated circuit's datasheet makes it clear that it is a versatile chip. If powered with 5V (Pin 28), its communication ports (MOSI, CLK, CS) will send 5V signals. The error is not in the chip, but in the design of the blackboards, which ignore the need for logic level conversion. ⚡ Clamping Diodes and Overload: We explain why the chip doesn't burn out instantly. The internal protection diodes (Clamping Diodes) try to "clip" the excess voltage, but operate under constant overload, generating heat and electrical noise, which explains many verification errors. 🧪 Electromigration and Dielectric Corrosion: The invisible danger. Using 5V on 3V components causes the displacement of atoms in the silicon (electromigration) and the degradation of the internal insulating layer (dielectric corrosion). The device may power on today, but the BIOS may become corrupted or fail in a few months. As technicians, we strive for service durability. 🔧 The Correct Modification: We emphasize the importance of powering the CH341A correctly, connecting pin 9 to pin 28 to ensure stability and pure 3.3V signals, respecting the integrity of our customers' components. Technical Sources and References: Official Winbond Datasheet (W25Q Series) Official WCH Datasheet (CH341A Chip) Signal integrity analyses from international technical forums (EEVblog, BadCaps, and Win-Raid) Practical tests with a bench oscilloscope. At Super Eletrônica, humility and the pursuit of technical truth go hand in hand. If you value quality and want to avoid returns on your workbench, this video is for you.
