ROCKFISH Season Is BACK! | Kayak Fishing For Chesapeake Bay Striped Bass! Chesapeake Bay Fishing!

Rockfish season is finally back for the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland! It has been a long spring closure, but the season has finally opened. This year, we are allowed to keep one fish per person per day with a slot limit of 19" to 24". I wasn't planning to keep any fish on this trip, so we did some catch and release fishing. I took my kayak out on the West River to see if there were any fish in the shallows around docks. It took me a little while to locate some fish, but once I did, the action was steady. My sidescan helped me locate a few large schools of stripers cruising the shallows which were aggressive and feeding. This was a fun trip to start the season and hopefully a sign of more good fishing to come. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe to the channel!
