Lindau is an island city on “Bodensee”. “Bodensee” is a lake in between Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It is called “Lake Constance” in English, French and Italian. It is connected to mainland Germany by a railway and one road. The coat of arms of Lindau is a linden tree. This refers to the supposed origin of the island’s and town’s name.
